Last Day of School!

The husband, the littlest ones and I went out for a bike ride whilst the older ones were at school. It's been forever since we'd gone for a ride so this was really nice.

We ended up at a playground not too far away and had a good time being outside. 

The summer holidays are here, and so is the end of a really strange school year. More than a quarter of the year was spent in lockdown, on distance learning. Our big girl goes to year 2, and our big boy, year 4 next year. 

It's been mentally exhausting for the husband and I. But in this life, there are no real breaks. I admire the husband's ability to get up each day and show up, no matter how tired he's feeling. I tell him he makes life look easy. We have a good laugh about it and just keep putting one foot in front of the other.

All our gifts for St Nicholas' Day have finally arrived and we'll be doing stockings tonight. It was nice to have the children eager to go to bed for once!
