Playground Day and Homemade Yoghurt.

"I don't need your help, mum. I can do it myself." Spoken like a little boy who's getting ready to go to primary school. :)

We're soaking in as much time at playgrounds and parks as we can, these days, especially with the lovely weather we have been having.

We spent a good amount of time wandering among the trees and looking out for cicada shells. Cicada nymphs live underground for years and emerge to shed their exteriors and mate. We collected many of the shells on tree trunks. Nothing like a good treasure hunt to pass the time!

We've recently started making our own yoghurt at home. Our big boy, who doesn't usually eat the commercially bought yoghurt, loves the home made stuff. Funny. Thanks to a thoughtful gift card from Ligna, we received a box of yoghurt making accessories and sachets this afternoon. The sachets are mixed with water, put in a hot water bath in the yoghurt maker, and left to set for about 8-12 hours. Each child got to choose a preferred flavour of yoghurt. We've got a brood of children looking forward to having some freshly made yoghurt tomorrow morning.
